Greek Style Hamburgers

Lamb Burgers flavoured with Feta cheese, black olives and coriander, served with Greek yoghurt flavoured with fresh mint and wholemeal pita bread.

If there was any such thing as Greek Burgers, they might be like this!

Burger Ingredients Picture  

  1. Mince the lamb and put in a large bowl. Roughly chop the Feta cheese, stone the olives, finely chop the parsley/coriander and carefully stir into the meat along with two teapoonfuls of salt.
  2. Use a large spoon and your hands to gently shape into burgers making sure you do not crush the meat  Picture  . Put to one side.
  3. Peel and finely chop the shallots and garlic cloves. Trim the mint and finely chop this as well. Add along with the youghurt and a teaspoonful of salt to a blender. Gently blend  Picture  .
  4. Lightly dress the salad, and cut the beetroot into small cubes stir in a little olive oil and some salt.
  5. Grill the burgers lightly for four or so minutes per side, finish off for a further couple of minutes close to the grill. Warm the pita through under the grill. Serve with burgers with the salad, beetroot, pita with a little of the sauce  Zoom  .
Serves: Three to four

Serve with: Salad leaves and diced beetroot
