
Mashed Swede and Carrots

Hitherto unknown to me a Lovely Combination of Mashed Swede and Carrots
Cut the swede into thick slices, trim off the outside, cut into one inch/3 cms cubes. put into salted water and simmer unil tender but not mushy. Top and tail the carrots, scrape, cut into two lengthwise, put into salted water and simmer until tender.
Drain the swede and carrot, combine in a saucepan, add a tablespoonful of butter and mash with a masher. Season the mash with salt and lots of black pepper. add a tablespoonful of cream and re-season. Put the mixture into a serving dish and keep warm in the oven if necessary.
