Soda Bread

Extraordinarily easy and quick bread to make
There are lots of different recipes for soda bread on the net but this recipe worked for me.
250 gm strong white flour
- Put the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Pour in most of the buttermilk and use your hands to make a dough adding more buttermilk if necessary.
- Lightly flour a work surface with some while flour, put the dough on top and knead the dough. Make the dough into a ball and flatten until roughly 3 inches thick. Use a knife to cut a cross right across the top.
- Cook in the oven at 400°F/200°C/Reg6 for about 30 minutes until risen and a nice golden colour.
