Steamed Kale with Lightly Spiced Mushrooms a non-Intuitive great Combo lovely with Fish


200 gm or so kale

  1. If not already prepared, cut stalks out of the kale and roughly chop into 1 cm slices. Put in a steamer and steam for about five minutes until they are softer but still al dente.
  2. Meanwhile peel the mushrooms and cut into chunks (not to fine)  Picture  . Peel and finely chop the garlic. Put a couple of tablespoonfuls of olive oil, add the mushrooms and garlic and cook turning over a medium heat for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle ove a few pinches of cayenne pepper and the five spice poweder if used and stir in.
  3. Chop the corinader and add to the mushrooms along with the steamed kale. Stir over a medium heat until hot and season with some salt. You can cover and put to one side if you like and just warm through when needed.
